Mouth Shut! Eyes, Ears and Heart Open!

Good morning all!

While I was dealing with my teen the other day,and trying to get a word in edgewise, I realized how often have I done the same thing with God and others? Talking endlessly and thinking I was the only one who was right or saying something of value!? Oh, how often I have spoke without thinking of the way it would sound or feelings it would hurt...What was I thinking? Well, I was'nt! I was caught up in the moment, just like my teen! (only thing is, I am FAR from my teen years!=-)

It has been preached to me time and time again,

Pro 25:11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Phl 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

I know, and believe, that there is power in the tongue but sometimes the heart & mind do not engage as fast as my big mouth!

I found this in God's word. This is how Jesus handled confrontation when He was brought before the cheif priests and elders of the church in that day...

Mat 26:59-65 "Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, [yet] found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, And said, This [fellow] said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what [is it which] these witness against thee? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy."

Jesus held His peace, thinking on the greater glory that was to come from this horriable/heartwrenching scene. He calmly explained Himself and let it be. Showing us an example that we must remember, the truth will always come out, it speaks for itself. We have to let God be in control of our togune, thinking of the greater glory that will come!

The bible says...

Jam 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

So How do we control this unruly member? ONLY By the Holy Ghost! His word tells me...

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I must follow His plan of salvation. His work and will for my life.

Act 2:37-40 "Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation."

Mar 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;"

I want to speak with love and kindness in my tongue but I know I cannot do this without His spirit dwelling in me!God's spirit controls the tongue, it is the only thing that can! I must get in my prayer closet and be renewed everyday and if I do mess up, Ask Jesus to cleanse, purge and purify me once again that I can speak things that are upright and pleaseing in His(and others) sight (and ears)!

Pro 10:20 The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver...

Pro 12:18 ...but the tongue of the wise [is] health.

Pro 15:2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright...

Pro 16:1...the answer of the tongue, [is] from the LORD.

Pro 18:21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Great day to all! Love to all! Deb=-)
